Statement From @CityofDurham’s Michael Page on Why he Opposes #Amendment1:

I oppose Amendment One and will be voting against it.  Furthermore, I feel the way this amendment has been written is mean-spirited, cruel and typical of someone who don’t care about people.  This amendment does not protect our citizens especially our children when it comes to benefits.  I go on and welcome any calls that individuals may have of my vote.  Voting is a personal and private priviledge however since there is so much demand to know where the County Commissioners stand, this is my position.

Michael D. Page
Durham County Commissioner
(The Durham County Commission recently decided *not* to vote on a resolution opposing Amendment One. Durham County is one of nine municipalities that stands to lose domestic partner benefits if Amendment One is not defeated on May 8, 2012.)
