Fact Check Exposes “Legal Experts” Agenda in Supporting #Amendment1

A recent fact check of three law professors who authored a white paper dismissing the broadly-worded amendment’s unintended consequences, reveals not only a clear agenda in passing the amendment but also little expertise in the area of family law.

According to a new online article by Carlos Maza, Campbell Law professors Lynn R. Buzzard, William A. Woodruff, and E. Gregory Roberts, touted by Amendment One proponents in new ads as “independent sources,” are instead long-time advocates for similar constitutional amendments.

According to Maza, his research calls their “neutral, unbiased judgment into question.”

In response to the white paper, North Carolina Family Law professors from every law school in the state (including Campbell University) have criticized the white paper, reaffirming widespread concern about the Amendment’s vague wording and the potential for far-reaching consequences for North Carolina children, women, seniors and families.
